When using SSTV the convention is to use Lower sideband (LSB) below 9 MHz and Upper sideband (USB) about 9 MHz, typically use a filter bandwidth of 3 kHz.

When using RTTY the convention is to run the radio in Upper sideband (USB), typically use a filter bandwidth of 4kHz.
Virtual Audio Cable
The programs read the demodulated audio from the console over a virtual audio cable.
