Hello Simon ,

I am very happy with the greater adjustible FM bandwitdh option up to 48 KHz for APT reception. The Satellite workgroup KUNSTMAAN in the Netherlands is interessted too.

I run the console on my desktop 2.2GHz XP prof. All updates on board . The CPU load looks a bit high aprox 35 till 40 %.

Notice that after some change the reaction is a bit slow. When the watterfall is smaller the load go a little lower.

Rob PA0RWE run the console on his 1.8 GHz desktop also XP his CPU load is between 80-90%

We wander if with this load it can be run on a ATOM EEE PC on 1.6 GHz ??.

That should be verry pitty.

Regards Joris PE1KTH

Yes, it's OK on my ASUS EEE PC N270 which has two threads :)

What Chip does PA0RWE have?

Reduce the size of the Waterfall / monitor will help.

And slwoing the waterfall will reduce the load, sounds like a poor-ish graphics chip :(

Hi Simon,

I installed SDR-Radio and first impression is: it's looking good and it's working nice. Great work! I found the sound quality also very good. But indeed as Joris mentioned, the CPU load is a bit high... I checked it on two computers:

- Desktop AMD Sempron 3000+ (1.8 GHz and 1.5 Gb mem) AC97 sound chip. CPU load average about 65% and when I use the mouse to tune, it's run op to 80-90%

- Laptop Intel PIII (1.13GHz, 512 Mb mem) Intel sound chip. CPU load about 5% more then on the desktop.

The CPU load of PowerSDR is about 30-50% on my laptop.

I'am using the KTH-SDR radio designed by Joris. I was responsible for the software. For that reason I am very interested in USB control wth SDR-radio. I read that this wil be finished at the end of March?
