alix3d3 (Remote Servers)

The alix3d3 is a very small 500MHz PC which supports both Windows XP and various flavours of Linux. This is ideal as a remotely located server - there is no way it will support the SDR-RADIO.com console (I've not tried it yet) but it should run the SDR-RADIO.com remote server with a sample rate of at least 200kHz.

As well as nice indoor enclosure this can be mounted outdoors in a very rugged enclosure with power supplied via an Ethernet cable.

Windows XP Configuration

Notes for configuring XP when only 256MB of RAM is available and the disk is a CF card.

It Works!

January 7th, 2010
It just couldn't be simpler, the only problem was locating the driver for the DCMA-81 WiFi card. It was finally found on the atheros.cz website. I've added a copy below just in case the driver falls off the face of the internet.

And it's:

  • Fast - very fast.
  • Quiet - no fans, nothing.
  • Cool - uses hardly any electricity.
